Senator threatens to subpoena governor’s NM Expo appointee

 

SANTA FE – The friction between the Democratic-dominated Senate Rules Committee and Republican Gov. Susana Martinez intensified Wednesday as the committee chairwoman threatened to try to subpoena one of the governor’s appointees to appear before the panel.

Sen. Linda Lopez, D-Albuquerque, presented a resolution asking the full Senate to issue a subpoena to Expo New Mexico General Manager Dan Mourning, but didn’t ask the committee to vote on it right away.

“I hope I don’t have to use that,” Lopez said later.
