WHERE: Room 318 of the State Capitol, Santa Fe, NM

WHAT:  The New Mexico Drug Policy Alliance will release the findings of its new poll on marijuana policy in New Mexico. The data shows the majority of New Mexicans are in favor of marijuana policy reform. Sen. Gerald Ortiz Y Pino (D, Bernalillo, 12) will discuss Senate Joint Memorial 31 to study the taxation and regulation of marijuana in New Mexico. Rep. Emily Kane (D, Bernalillo, 15) will talk about her legislation (HB465) to decrease the penalties for marijuana possession which is scheduled to be heard February 26, 2013, in the House Consumer and Public Affairs Committee. Emily Kaltenbach, executive director of the New Mexico Drug Policy Alliance will break down the polling data.
