    Tainted dollars: Senate Majority Leader Michael Sanchez is calling on Gov. Susana Martinez to return thousands of dollars in campaign contributions from a Texas developer who was convicted on a domestic violence charge after a security video captured him a slapping a stripper in a Las Vegas, Nev., hotel, throwing her to the ground on an elevator and stomping on her cellphone.

    Sanchez noted in a news release that Marcus Hiles was the largest individual donor last year to a Republican PAC, Advance New Mexico Now, giving the group $100,000. In addition, Hiles and his wife donated a total of $20,000 to Martinez’s re-election campaign.
