    R.I.P. Gilbert: Longtime House Sergeant-at-Arms Gilbert Lopez, who retired last year, died last week.

    Lopez was elected sergeant at arms in 2005, though he had worked for the Legislature for many years before. The sergeant-at-arms’ duties include keeping order in the House chamber, galleries, committee rooms and corridors of the Roundhouse.
