Republicans control the New Mexico House of Representatives for the first time in 60 years. Democrats again are in charge of the Senate.
The split could mean gridlock for New Mexico, unless legislators are committed to working together on the two biggest issues facing the state, said Sen. Michael Padilla, D-Albuquerque, the newly elected majority whip.
