Hundreds of teachers descend on Capitol, protesting governor’s initiatives

Hundreds of educators descended on the Roundhouse on Saturday in what one of their leaders called a “war on the war on education.”

“We are in a war for the very soul of the students we teach,” an impassioned Earl Wiman, a member of the executive committee of the National Education Association and former NEA president for Tennessee, told the crowd at the Roundhouse. “It must be a fight true to our moral values.”
