Anti-bullying bill in Senate honors suicide victim

Jacqueline Vigil says her son was bullied to death.

In adolescence, Carlos Vigil was husky and he wore glasses. He had a teenager’s typical problems with his skin. Taunting and intimidation made growing up in Los Lunas harder than perhaps anyone understood.

On a summer day in 2013 at age 17, Carlos took his own life. Now, his name and memory are synonymous with a political movement.
